Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley(D), who is never shy about criticizing Republicans, is now reaching out to them in his effort to pass gay marriage legislation in his state.
Noting that recent same-sex marriage victories in New York and Washington were gained with at least a small number of GOP votes, O’Malley is now talking with legislative Republicans in an effort to put together a winning coalition. The question is; are the votes there and are Maryland Republicans willing to help O’Malley secure a major victory that would gain national attention?
