LePage Pushes Cuts

Maine Governor Paul LePage(R) continues his battle with legislators over the size of the state budget.

Specifically, he has targeted Medicaid spending, which is among the highest – per-capita – in the nation.

Since taking office, LePage has argued Medicaid spending rates in Maine are too high and unsustainable. This week a budget vote is expected that may bring the issue to a conclusion.
